From Tree to Classroom

Using local apples and some parent volunteers, students in Mrs. Tomlinson's class had the opportunity to do a variety of lessons where they were able to connect agriculture to the classroom. Through their science inquiry, students first studied the characteristics of an apple before exploring and testing chemical and physical changes. This was then followed with preparing and processing the apples, before using the apples to make apple sauce. The day concluded with the students sampling their work. Delicious!
