Orange Shirt Day

Today, in recognition of Orange Shirt Day, our students participated in a virtual author visit with David Robertson, who shared his powerful picture book When We Were Alone.

Through this story, students explored the experiences of Indigenous children in residential schools and reflected on the resilience, strength, and pride found in family, culture, and community.

David’s heartfelt words reminded us of the importance of identity, kindness, and remembering our history in order to build a better, more compassionate future.
