Ribbon Skirts and Shirts

Thanks to a generous donation by our PAC, and the amazing partnership of our classroom teachers and Indigenous Support Workers, every grade six student is able to make their own ribbon skirt or shirt. We strive to embody the idea that learning takes patience and time in everything we do, especially with this project. While guided by adults, students complete the work independently. From measuring to cutting to sewing (and sometimes ripping it all apart to start again), the work is done by the student. This creates pride not only in the finished product, but in the grit required.
